From one of the founding fathers of natural wine, the cuvee Marcel Lapierre reserved for his oldest, best vines. Lapierre was a member of Beaujolais' legendary 'Gang of Four,' anointed by importer Kermit Lynch as the producers who showed the world a different kind of Beaujolais: living, no-makeup Gamay made with old vines, semi-carbonic fermentation, and almost no added sulfur. Cuvee Camille, named for Marcel's daughter Camille (who runs the domaine with her brother Mathieu), is the estate's old-vine selection from Morgon, aged in old foudres for added depth. This 2014 has a bit of bottle age on it now, which suits its more serious, structured profile. The real deal from a true icon.
