Direct-to-press Grenache rosé with serious intent. Two Wolves sits just outside Happy Canyon on dense shaley clay loam, organically farmed at the warm eastern end of Santa Ynez Valley. Outward's Ryan Pace (ex-Byron) and Natalie Siddique hand-pick the Grenache, foot-stomp the clusters for a brief soak, then press whole-bunch straight to barrel for native fermentation in neutral wood. The result is a Provençal-leaning rosé with Central Coast bones: pale coral, mineral-driven, lifted by strawberry and rose petal but tightened by sea-air acidity and a saline finish. Outward keeps inputs low, bottles unfined and unfiltered, and turns out a rosé that drinks like a serious dry white. Pop it cold and forget about analyzing it.

Ryan Pace and Natalie Siddique started Outward Wines in 2016 to share their love of Syrah and the Central Coast of California. Now they farm six acres across San Luis Obispo Coast and the Santa Ynez Valley, plus they source from other thoughtfully farmed, coastal-influenced vineyards. It's small-lot, site-specific, and serious about terroir. Avant-Garde Wine & Spirits imports them. The kind of project that starts with passion and scales only as far as principle allows.

Tasting Profile

Pale coral. Strawberry, white peach, rose petal, hibiscus, and crushed stone, with a barrel-fermented breadth that adds texture without weight. Crisp, mineral, and saline through the finish. Dry and serious.
