A small-grower 1er Cru Morey from a name very few collectors know. Domaine Gerard Peirazeau et Fils farms tiny parcels across the Cote de Nuits, including a sliver of Les Genavrieres — an upper-slope 1er Cru on Morey-Saint-Denis' Gevrey-facing side, situated just above Clos de la Roche (and adjacent to Les Chaffots). The location gives Genavrieres a particular profile: lifted aromatics, fine-boned structure, and the stony cut you'd expect from this part of the slope. Tiny production, made the old-fashioned way, and the kind of insider Burgundy that rewards patience. 2023 is a charming, perfumed vintage with real freshness — drink across the next decade-plus.
