Sandhi’s 2024 Central Coast Chardonnay opens with regional clarity from sustainably farmed old-vine vineyards. The domaine, founded by long-time Rhône specialists, applies Burgundian techniques like native-yeast barrel fermentation and lees stirring.

This mid-tier wine balances crisp acidity and stone fruit focus with gentle oak integration. It complements Sandhi’s up‑tier estate and single‑vineyard bottlings, reflecting terroir precision with accessible elegance.

Antonio Galloni

88 points

"The 2023 Chardonnay (Central Coast) is a very pretty entry-level offering. Citrus peel, white flowers and white pepper give this Chardonnay tons of appeal. Vineyard sources are in Edna Valley and the SLO Coast." —Antonio Galloni

Robert Parker

89 points

"The 2023 Chardonnay Central Coast leads with a straightforward bouquet of orchard fruit, white flowers and nutty accents. The palate is similarly simple but admirably well put together for a regional offering, attaining a solid balance between elegantly toasty richness and cleansing acidity." —Matthew Luczy

More about Sandhi

Rajat Parr and Sashi Moorman started Sandhi in 2010 with a thesis: exceptional Pinot Noir and Chardonnay come from restraint. Low alcohol, minimal oak, organic farming, singular focus. These California wines taste more like Burgundy than most wines actually from Burgundy.

Sandhi is a small production California winery focusing on wines made from select vineyards that have been exhaustively vetted for character, personality, and balance. Founded by Rajat Parr, the wine director for Michael Mina Restaurants, and esteemed winemaker, Sashi Moorman, these wineries represent this dynamic duo’s belief that great wines are a collaboration between man, earth, and vine.

The wines of Sandhi are Raj and Sashi’s love letters to the Santa Rita Hills appellation. Some of the wines are from legendary vineyards that helped put the appellation on the map and some from newer sites. Just like the property that became Domaine de la Cote, these sites are chosen for their ability to produce wines of finesse, minerality, acidity, structure and balance.
