The people behind this one are worth knowing: Tom Nichol, the former Tanqueray master distiller, working with the Perrin family and Brad Pitt. Celebrity spirits are usually a reason for suspicion, but the distiller's resume here is the real headline. It is a wheat-based spirit run through copper stills with thirteen certified organic botanicals - wild juniper and rosemary, angelica, coriander and licorice, plus figs, lavender and mimosa blossom, and a run of Riviera citrus including pink grapefruit, lemon, and sweet and bitter orange from around Cap d'Antibes. The result is juniper-forward but distinctly sunny, with the citrus and herbs doing most of the talking. Bottled at 42% ABV.
