Langhe Nebbiolo is the easiest way into Piedmont's great red grape: it's the same Nebbiolo behind Barolo and Barbaresco, made to drink now rather than to wait on for a decade. This 2024 from Vada is a dry red, and it's about as young as the category gets, so it's a bottle for the table this season, not the cellar. For anyone curious about Nebbiolo but not ready to commit to a Barolo, this is the sensible place to start. It's also a good weeknight answer for people who already love the grape.

Tasting Notes & Food Pairings

Perfect Pairings

Tajarin with butter and sage, agnolotti del plin, mushroom risotto, roast chicken with rosemary, or salumi with aged Toma.

Tasting Profile

Expect the classic Langhe Nebbiolo profile: red cherry, raspberry, violets and a hint of dried herbs and tar. It's typically medium-bodied, with bright acidity and firm but approachable tannins, finishing dry and gently savoury. Think of a younger, readier-to-drink Barolo, with the lightness of Pinot Noir but noticeably more grip.
