A legendary producer's flagship expression from a great vintage. The 2010 Valdicava Brunello Riserva Madonna del Piano is refined and elegant, with iron-fisted structure underneath silk. Sangiovese Grosso aged 48 months in large Slavonian oak casks, then four years in bottle. Ripe aromas of plum, cherry, spice, earth, and tobacco give way to a velvety palate with the minerality and intensity that define the finest Montalcino.
