A mature, sensibly priced Bordeaux made by Regis Moro, whose Castillon estate was later (2022) acquired by the Amoreau family of the cult biodynamic estate Chateau Le Puy. This Cotes de Castillon blends mostly Merlot with Cabernet Franc from Moro's vineyards, including century-old parcels, farmed organically with biodynamic practices and aged in cement tanks. Now two decades on, the great, warm 2005 vintage has softened into exactly what mature Bordeaux should be: resolved tannins, savory depth, and secondary complexity you simply can't rush. Drinking beautifully right now.
