A tete de cuvee that goes light instead of heavy, from one of Beaujolais' most sought-after young naturalists. Yann Bertrand learned the craft from heavyweights like Jean Foillard and Yvon Metras, and the Cuvee du Chaos comes from his oldest Fleurie vines, 80 to 110 years old, rooted in decomposed granite. It's made with zero added yeast or sulfur, carbonic maceration, and aging mostly in large neutral oak, so it stays floral, perfumed and silky while packing real complexity. The name nods to the madness of deciding when to pick. The 2013, a cooler vintage, suits this delicate style and now carries graceful bottle age. A mature bottle from a private collection.
