Clos du Mont-Olivet is one of the great traditional names of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, run by the Sabon family, whose Rhone roots reach back centuries. This Grenache-based blend comes from the appellation's famous galets-strewn soils, and 1998 was one of the truly outstanding vintages here, warm and structured. From a private collection and now over 25 years old, it sits in a rich, mature drinking window.
