Think of this as the little sibling to their Brunello: same soul, drawn from two Brunello-classified parcels, but bottled young and bright for drinking now rather than decades from now. 2024 was a cooler, fresher vintage in Montalcino after a run of hot years, and it shows here in the lift and balance. This is Tuscan red for a Tuesday table, and it overdelivers every time.

Gianni Brunelli and his wife Laura took over Le Chiuse di Sotto in Montalcino in 1987. When Gianni passed unexpectedly in 2008, Laura continued his vision. Their wines are made from 100% Sangiovese from two sites, full-bodied and complex, proof that Montalcino holds jewels beyond the obvious names. These are honest, elegant, and real.

100% Sangiovese blended from Laura Brunelli’s two vineyard parcels, both of which are classified to produce Brunello: Podernovone at 500 meters above sea level, with a south west exposition planted in 1998; and Le Chiuse di Sotto in Canalicchio with a north-east exposure planted in 1989

Maceration on the skins for 18 days
