In 1987, Gianni Brunelli bought back his father's property Le Chiuse di Sotto in northern Montalcino—his father had originally planted vines there in 1947, and a small plot of those original vines is still conserved. Gianni also established Osteria Le Logge in Siena in 1977. After his death in 2008, his wife Laura took over the estate with Gianni's cousin Adriano. The estate farms approximately 6.5 hectares of exclusively Sangiovese across two sites. The Rosso di Montalcino is 100% Sangiovese, farmed organically since the beginning with no herbicides or synthetic products.
