Organic grower Champagne from one of the Côte des Blancs' rising stars. Pascal Doquet's grandfather began winemaking in the 1930s; Pascal started in 1995 and launched his own label in 2004, achieving organic certification in 2010. He farms nearly 9 hectares of old vines in prime terroirs including Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Vertus. Champs Libres blends Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in an Extra-Brut style—aromatic, fruit-forward, with terroir clarity. A grower to discover now.

More about Pascal Doquet

Chalk cellars and understatement. Pascal Doquet is one of Champagne's premier vignerons, farming old vines in Vertus and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger organically since 2010. His cellar is carved directly into chalk; his harvest is precise; fermentation is native yeast in enamel tanks. The wines are held for a minimum of three years, and the philosophy is purity first. Doquet's Champagne tastes like it means something.

Champagne

Champagne boasts some of the world’s greatest luxury brands with Krug, Cristal and, of course, Dom Perignon. But it’s also home to hundreds of small dynamic producers—farmers who grow their own grapes (often organically) and make (often with natural methods) tiny amounts of pure and absolutely delicious wine that reflect the individual personalities of their villages and terroirs. Toast with these wines, for sure. But also treat them like the great wines they are: taste, drink, explore!
