Magnum format of a warm vintage—nearly a decade of patient evolution in a larger bottle. The 2017 vintage delivered ripe, approachable Meursault, and in magnum, that ripeness has integrated gracefully into a wine of silky texture and developed complexity. Where a standard bottle might show full maturity now, this magnum is still building, its larger format ensuring that citrus, hazelnut, and stone fruit will continue to marry and deepen. A collector's play for those seeking present drinking with future upside.

"A very Meursault nose features notes of hazelnut, apple, pear, citrus and acacia blossom. Here too the medium weight flavors possess a beguiling sense of vibrancy along with better mid-palate density, all wrapped in a more complex, clean, dry and crisp finish that exudes an appealing hint of salinity."

"Gently sun-kissed scents of Asian pear, white flowers and honeycomb introduce the 2017 Meursault Village, a medium to full-bodied, satiny-textured and elegantly fleshy wine derived from the Clos de la Baronne, Crotot, Gruyaches and Sous la Velle; as that palette of lieux-dits implies, it's the most open-knit, gourmand and forward Meursault in the domaine's range." —William Kelley

"Expressive citrus and a touch of blossom. Lemon-curd intensity. Incredibly concentrated and rich like lemon curd but the acid cuts through. Gorgeously seductive and still fresh. Long."

More about Domaine Roulot

The name Roulot is now a synonym for the very best wine that the village of Meursault can offer. It is rather remarkable when you consider that just 2 generations back the Roulot's were known as producers of Burgundian brandy and eau de vie. But Guy Roulot began leveraging the family's distilling success to purchase small plots of vines in Meursault and by the 1970's was known as a pioneer for producing top quality chardonnay from distinct parcels or ""lieu-dits"".

When Guy passed away unexpectedly in the early '80's his son Jean-Marc was pursuing acting in Paris. In 1989 he returned to take on the reigns of the small Domaine and in the following decades built on his fathers success so well that the wines are now extremely hard to acquire and to afford for most of us.
