Pure Northern Rhone Syrah from a master of the appellation, at a fraction of Cote-Rotie pricing. Jean-Luc Jamet spent decades making wine alongside his brother at the legendary Domaine Jamet before striking out on his own, and his Collines Rhodaniennes bottling captures that same Ampuis pedigree in a more approachable package - sourced from younger vines and outer parcels around the great Cote-Rotie hill. It's a wine built on the cool-climate purity and savory, peppery complexity that make Northern Rhone Syrah so distinctive. This is a mature, back-vintage bottle from a private collection, now showing the meaty, secondary complexity that good Syrah earns with time in the cellar. Decant and enjoy a glimpse of Cote-Rotie character without the wait or the price.

More about Jean-Luc Jamet

The Jamet name means Côte-Rôtie, and Jean-Luc splits from his brother's traditionalism by using less whole-bunch fermentation—about 30%—to emphasize floral elements and vitality. Eight hectares of mixed granite, schist, and sand soils high above Ampuis yield Côte-Rôties that feel fresh and alive.
