Pure Northern Rhone Syrah from a master of the appellation, offering Cote-Rotie character without the Cote-Rotie price tag. Jean-Luc Jamet made wine for decades at the storied Domaine Jamet before splitting off to found his own estate near Ampuis, and this Collines Rhodaniennes bottling draws on that same know-how, sourced from younger vines and parcels around the famous hill. Expect the cool-climate purity, savory spice and peppery edge that define great Northern Rhone Syrah. This is a mature, back-vintage bottle from a private collection, now drinking with developed, savory complexity. A few years younger than the 2010, it should still show a touch more primary fruit alongside its evolution.

The Jamet name means Côte-Rôtie, and Jean-Luc splits from his brother's traditionalism by using less whole-bunch fermentation—about 30%—to emphasize floral elements and vitality. Eight hectares of mixed granite, schist, and sand soils high above Ampuis yield Côte-Rôties that feel fresh and alive.
