The Pierre Péters Champagne Brut Blanc de Blancs ‘Cuvée de Réserve’ NV is an exceptional Chardonnay-based Champagne, crafted exclusively from Grand Cru vineyards in the Côte des Blancs, including the renowned village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. This non-vintage cuvée is a blend of multiple harvests, enhanced by a perpetual reserve dating back to 1988, which adds depth, complexity, and a distinct signature to the wine. The house’s dedication to quality and terroir expression is evident in every bottle.

On the nose, this Champagne offers an elegant bouquet of citrus zest, white flowers, and freshly baked brioche, accented by subtle notes of almond and chalk. The palate is refined and vibrant, showcasing flavors of crisp green apple and lemon, supported by lively acidity and a mineral-driven core. The finish is long and refreshing, leaving an impression of purity and precision.

This Champagne pairs beautifully with oysters, seared scallops, or light appetizers such as smoked salmon or goat cheese. Its crisp structure and refined texture also make it an excellent aperitif. While enjoyable now for its freshness and balance, the Pierre Péters ‘Cuvée de Réserve’ NV will reward careful cellaring over the next 2–3 years, gaining additional nuance and complexity. It is a benchmark Blanc de Blancs that embodies the artistry of Pierre Péters and the unique terroirs of the Côte des Blancs.

"The NV Brut Cuvée de Réserve Grand Cru is open, effusive and a real delight to taste. Soaring aromatics and soft curves give this 2019-base Champagne tons of sheer appeal. Apricot, tangerine peel, spice and dried flowers abound in this racy, open-knit Champagne. The Cuvée de Réserve is rarely this charming at this stage. The slightly lower dosage of 5 grams per liter works so well. Disgorged: August 2022." —Vinous

"Based on the 2019 vintage (which Péters declares "the best of the decade") and disgorged this year, the NV Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Cuvée de Réserve bursts with aromas of crisp stone fruit, orange zest, freshly baked bread and beeswax. Medium-bodied, ample and pillowy, with a fleshy core of fruit, racy acids and a saline finish, it's animated by an attractive pinpoint mousse."

"The reserve wines bring a delicious, savoury sense of sourdough richness to fresh clementine, lemon and pale stone fruit, the tension of classic chalky villages still present but rounded out into a wine of impressive persistence. A benchmark NV Blanc de Blancs. 100% Chardonnay from grand cru villages in the Côte des Blancs. Based on the 2018 vintage with 50% reserves from a perpetual reserve going back to 1988."

Wine Spectator

"Firm and minerally up front, with well-honed acidity and notes of smoke, chalk and oyster shell transitioning as they're integrated with a creamy range of crunchy pear, ripe green apple, pink grapefruit pith and almond skin flavors, which expand through the midpalate and lightly spiced finish. Elegant, but with good complexity and focus throughout. Disgorged May 2023."

Champagne

Champagne boasts some of the world’s greatest luxury brands with Krug, Cristal and, of course, Dom Perignon. But it’s also home to hundreds of small dynamic producers—farmers who grow their own grapes (often organically) and make (often with natural methods) tiny amounts of pure and absolutely delicious wine that reflect the individual personalities of their villages and terroirs. Toast with these wines, for sure. But also treat them like the great wines they are: taste, drink, explore!
