Robert Parker

92 points

"The 2012 Tinta Roriz was aged in 30% new French oak for 18 months. It comes in at 14.5% alcohol. This is not quite as delicious as the 2011, also reviewed, at least not today, but in many respects, it is more perfectly balanced and better structured. It seems fresh but powerful, with fine fruit. With some extra bottle age, this has become drinkable since I last saw it, but it is still fairly tight. It should improve more over the next few years. The 2011 is a better wine for drinking today, but that has peaked while this 2012 has a lot more improvement likely. In time, I suspect this will surpass it. The price of this library wine is merely the current release price." —Mark Squires

Wine Enthusiast

"This dark dusty wine is rich, showing fine black fruits and layers of tannins. The wine has a juicy character, full of blackberry flavors that are lifted by the acidity and polished by the wood aging. Drink now–2022." —Roger Voss
