Chemin de Chalons is one of two Vincey bottlings from the Grand Cru of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. It's a single southeast-facing parcel of massal-selection Chardonnay planted in 1968, sitting on 60 cm of brown clay over Mesnil's celebrated chalk and located next to the historic Chetillon. The slightly warmer mesoclimate ripens fruit about six days earlier than Vincey's neighboring Auge plot, giving a more demonstrative, fleshier Mesnil interpretation. Biodynamic farming, ambient ferment, 12 months in barrel (20% new local oak), full malo, 36 months on the lees, and zero-dosage disgorgement with no added sulfur produce a muscular, textural Mesnil-sur-Oger that still finishes with the village's signature mineral grip.
