A relic from one of Barolo's most legendary hermits. Lorenzo Accomasso worked his tiny La Morra parcels in near-monastic seclusion for over six decades, refusing to change a single thing about his methods until his passing in 2025. The Riserva represents his most patient work: long macerations in concrete, years of slumber in old Slavonian botti, neither fined nor filtered. The 2008 vintage produced classical, structured Barolo with the perfume La Morra is famous for, and at seventeen years on it has shed its tannic baby fat and arrived at full maturity. Tar, rose, dried cherry, leather, that haunting old-Barolo savor. These bottles were always whispered about among insiders; with Lorenzo gone, every one is a small monument.

Perfect Pairings

Built for the table it grew beside: brasato al Barolo, agnolotti del plin in butter and sage, aged Castelmagno, roasted guinea fowl with porcini. Anything slow-braised and beef-driven will sing.

Tasting Profile

Mature traditional Barolo. Tar, dried rose, sour cherry, leather, truffle, sweet tobacco. Resolved tannins, lifted acidity, the savory, mineral, almost ethereal finish that only old La Morra delivers.
