Magnum format of Boudignon's most thrilling single-vineyard Savennières. Clos de la Hutte is a tiny walled site in La Possonnière, planted in 2011 directly on solid schist (the local Anjou Noir) with barely a skin of clay-and-sand above the bedrock. The schist gives the wine a fuller, more brooding profile than Boudignon's sandier parcels — chalk and crushed stone, lemon pith, quince, white flowers, and a saline grip you can feel in your teeth. In 1.5L, the slow oxygen exchange tightens the wine even further and adds years to the aging window. A cellar bottle in the truest sense.

What has to say about this wine:

Tasting Notes & Food Pairings

Perfect Pairings

Open it for a table of serious eaters, ideally a decade from now. Roast turbot, lobster with beurre blanc, whole roast chicken with morels, aged Comté. Magnum format stretches the aging window — this can rest 15+ years.

Tasting Profile

Bone-dry, medium-bodied, deep. Chalk, crushed stone, lemon pith, quince, white flowers, dried honey, with a saline grip from the schist. Brooding and tightly wound — magnum format will push the peak well past 2035.

Loire Valley Wines

The Loire Valley is France’s greatest source of value for anyone looking for elegant, terroir-driven wines. Our collection celebrates the region’s great diversity, with the mineral-driven whites of Muscadet and Sancerre, the beautiful Chenin Blancs and Cabernet Francs from villages like Vouvray and Chinon, and natural wines from everywhere in the region. Sometimes wonderfully fresh and gulpable, sometimes serious and age-worthy, the prices are always very reasonable.
